At Metrocrest Services, we believe no one should ever have to choose between putting food on the table and paying their bills. Eligible Food Pantry visitors are invited to make an appointment to shop in our Food Pantry for a variety of items, including milk, bread, meat, produce, canned goods, and hygiene/household supplies.

The AmeriCorps Mobile Pantry Coordinator will support the program by leading volunteer shifts throughout Metrocrest Services’s service area to ensure the success of the mobile operation.
Primary duties include:
1. Direct food pantry volunteer distribution and assign packing shifts.
2. Lead volunteer shifts to support food pantry programs.
3. Distribute food and essential items to clients.
4. Record services to track number of families served.
5. Help edit and create nutrition education materials and other program materials for clients.
6. Assist with the physical distribution of food resources to the community and loading of food boxes through Mobile distribution sites

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 18 years or older.
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Access to reliable transportation to and from host site on a daily basis-must possess a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- College student or graduate with an interest in social services, public policy, or the nonprofit sector.
- Spanish bilingual strongly preferred.
- Passion for addressing food insecurity and/or providing assistance to senior clients or clients with disabilities.
- Availability to serve evenings and Saturday mornings.
- Commitment to uphold the mission and core values of Metrocrest Services.
- Must have basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, typing, etc.) and be a fast learner for basic client database program (SalesForce)
This location requires a total service commitment of 1,200 hours.
Benefits Include
- Living Allowance of $16,800.00; paid out biweekly ($646.15)
- Education Award of $5,176.50; earned at the end of term.
- 26 hours work week
