Multiple travel RN Psychiatric needs in Lexington, KY

Sage Group HealthCare Staffing is seeking Psychiatric Registered Nurses for travel/contract position in Lexington, KY. Accepting both local and traveler candidates.

Position Details:

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Pay Rate: Range $2016 to $2052 Weekly Gross Pay based on a 36 hour work week (Includes Non-taxable travel/housing and M&I stipend available for qualified/eligible travelers)

Unit: Inpatient mental health or behavioral health unit/s

Shifts available: Days

Schedule: 36 hours/week guaranteed, 3 shifts per week, Every other weekend

Position Requirements:

• Registered Nurse: 2 years - Required
  


• Recent/Current Inpatient Psychiatric Nursing or Behavioral health experience: 1 year – Required
  


• Recent/Current experience and ability to work with Adolescents, Young Adults, and Adult patient populations: 1 year – Required
  


• Must be willing to float between Child, Adolescent, and Adult units – Required
  


• Must be comfortable working every other weekend – Required
  

Education, License and Certification Requirements:

• ASN or an equivalent – Required
  


• BSN or an equivalent – Highly preferred
  


• RN License for State of KY or Compact RN License  - Required
  


• HWC (Handle with Care) Certification - Preferred
  


• BLS Certification from AHA or American Red Cross - Required
  

Job Description:

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
  


• Accurately and timely completes the following duties: new patient admissions, assessment, orders, treatment plan, property inventory, nutritional screening, progress note, patient education, safe and efficient medication administration.
  


• Provides appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse the situation, correctly prioritizing safety concerns.
  


• Uses appropriate counseling skills by de-escalating aggression, using active listening skills, using appropriate tone and volume of voice, providing a high frequency and variety of positive reinforcements, maintaining appropriate boundaries, and promoting a positive peer culture.
