Adelphi is seeking highly qualified Music Therapists to provide music-based therapeutic interventions to support the emotional, cognitive, communicative, and social development of students across educational settings in Texas. The ideal candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate music therapy into Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and promote student growth and access to learning.

Requirements:



• Bachelor’s in Music Therapy from an AMTA-approved program.



• Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) credential from the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT).



• Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Texas if required by the district.



• Experience working with children and youth in educational or therapeutic settings.



• Familiarity with IDEA, IEPs, and special education services.



• Strong musical proficiency in voice and multiple instruments (e.g., guitar, piano, percussion).











Responsibilities:



• Conduct music therapy assessments to determine students’ therapeutic needs and strengths.



• Develop and implement music-based interventions tailored to IEP goals and student abilities.



• Use music as a tool to support communication, behavior regulation, social interaction, emotional expression, and academic engagement.



• Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and parents to integrate therapy into classroom routines.



• Document therapy sessions, track student progress, and provide reports for IEP meetings and evaluations.



• Maintain a structured and supportive environment during individual and group sessions.



• Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and contribute to goal development and service planning.



• Stay current with best practices in music therapy and school-based service delivery.



• Maintain instruments and materials used in therapy sessions.



• Perform other related duties as assigned.
