We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Contract Emergency Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to join the nocturnal team at Phoenix Indian Medical Center (PIMC), a vital Indian Health Service (IHS) facility in Phoenix, Arizona. This is more than just another contract—it’s an opportunity to practice high-acuity emergency medicine while caring for a culturally rich patient population in a setting where your expertise makes a real difference.

Position Highlights:

  • Minimum of 4 night shifts per month 
  • 13-hour nocturnal shifts 
  • Long-term contract with possible extension 
  • Work authorized under any active, unrestricted U.S. medical license 
  • Local or travel locum candidates welcome 
  • Night shift only 7 pm - 8 am

Position Type:

  • 1099 Locum/Contract 
  • Long-term contract with potential for extension 
  • Open to local and travel-based providers 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive emergency care to patients of all ages 
  • Perform medical evaluations, make diagnoses, and implement treatment plans 
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including specialists, nurses, and support staff 
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health record systems 
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety efforts 
  • May provide guidance to support staff and contribute to departmental leadership  

Additional Information:
Shift times and schedules are subject to change based on patient needs and hospital operations. Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor as necessary.

Prairie Band, LLC is subject to Title 22: Employment Code of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. In accordance with Title 22, this position is designated as a TIER 2 position. Preference will be given to individuals to the extent required pursuant to Section 22-2-4(B).

Requirements

 Required Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution  
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency program   
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)  
  • Active, unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory  
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in Emergency Medicine  
  • Current and valid BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications will be required
  • Current DEA license with eligibility to prescribe medications  
  • Certification of education (copy of diploma or transcripts required)  
  • U.S. Citizenship and current residence in the continental United States  
  • Must not require visa sponsorship (no visa holders or green card residents) 
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems  
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills  
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment  
  • Willingness to comply with all federal and state medical regulations  
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills  
  • A valid driver’s license may be needed
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and culturally sensitive practice  
  • Flexibility and adaptability to a changing clinical environment
