Position Overview: As the Nurse Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing our Recuperative Services programs. This position requires a highly skilled, compassionate, and detail-oriented healthcare professional responsible for delivering comprehensive, patient-oriented care.  The Nurse Practitioner blends advanced clinical expertise with focus on health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education.  The Nurse Practitioner collaborates with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, to develop and manage patient care plans across various settings, such as hospitals, private practices, and clinics.  Additionally, the role involves actively engaging with support staff and clients. 



Key Responsibilities:



  • Patient Assessment and Diagnosis:

    • Conduct physical examinations

    • Record patient medical histories and symptoms

    • Diagnose acute and chronic health conditions



  • Treatment and Management:

    • Develop and implement patient treatment plans

    • Formulate and implement patient care plans including prescribing and managing medications, therapies and other treatments

    • Manage patients overall care



  • Diagnostic Services:



    • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests including x-rays and lab work to aid in diagnosis and treatments



  • Patient Education and Counseling:


    • Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and illness management



  • Referrals:


    • Refer patients to other health professionals or specialists as needed



  • Health Promotion:


    • Support overall wellness through teaching and workshops, focusing on a health promotion



  • Collaboration:


    • Work independently or collaboratively with physicians and other members of the healthcare team



  • Documentation:

    •  Maintain accurate and confidential patient records using electronic health records (EHR) systems



  •  Continuing Education:

    •  Stay current with medical advancements, nursing research, and new technologies to apply evidence-based practice in clinical care




     


 


Qualifications:



  • Education:

    • A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accelerated program is required

    •  Active Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure along with National Board Certification in a speciality area (e.g. family, pediatrics, or adult-gerontology) Licensure and Certification is required



  • Advanced Clinical Skills:

    • Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and clinical judgment abilities

    • Advanced knowledge of pharmacology, pathophysiology, and diagnostic reasoning



  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, healthcare teams, and colleagues



  • Critical Thinking:

    • The ability to make critical decisions and exercise sound judgment



  • Computer Proficiency:

    • The ability to use electronic medical record (EHR) systems



  • Teamwork and Collaborations:

    • The ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team



  • Autonomy and Adaptability:

    • The ability to work independently, manage stress, and to adapt quickly in dynamic healthcare environments

    • The ability to adapt to changing work responsibilities



  • Leadership and Teamwork:

    • Capability to lead nursing teams, coordinate care, and collaborate effectively with diverse staff

    • A caring and empathetic demeanor to build trust and rapport with patients
