This position requires an experienced audio journalist who is capable of conceiving, framing, reporting and producing podcast episodes. This position also requires excellent research and fact-checking skills; experience finding, suggesting and booking sources; coordinating taping at various remote locations; show running; and familiarity with podcast publishing platforms and workflows.
In addition, this position requires someone who can edit audio, sound design, mix, and deliver final audio files. This producer must be proficient at story conception, audio production, writing for on air, writing and editing text stories, and producing other online news content for the web, mobile and social media platforms.
A producer at KQED News is a journalist in a fast-growing, ambitious and exciting newsroom – a newsroom that is looking to expand its footprint as the indispensable source of local and regional news for the Bay Area. In the KQED newsroom, producers work with reporters, engagement producers and audio producers working on everything from local to state news on digital and audio and other platforms. This position is part of the SAG/AFTRA digital union.

This role will work hybrid between working in KQED's newly renovated headquarters and working remotely. KQED requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Salary Information: $44.00-$55.00 per hour
