BUILD, Inc. (Broader Urban Involvement and Leadership Development) is presently seeking a committed, self-motivated, and innovative individual to join our team. BUILD is a nationally respected gang intervention, violence prevention, and youth development organization based on Chicago’s West Side. Since 1969, BUILD has worked to save lives and mentor young people who live in the city’s most challenged neighborhoods. The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is a six-week, subsidized work-based program that provides internships or specialized training for young people ages 16-24 in Chicago. SYEP exposes youth to various public and private sector industries, employment placement, building financial capabilities, and training to help increase their self-efficacy and gain work experiences and skills needed to succeed in the current and future economy. The OSC SYEP Coordinator is expected to deliver and support high-quality, innovative, and comprehensive services that empower youth employees to thrive and to collaborate with community partners and employers to ensure quality career exploration and development experiences for youth.
