Overview

Helios Defense Solutions LLC, a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Operations Coordinator to support the US Navy's Commander Fleet Logistics Support Squadron (VR-1) at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. The individual will provide support related to flight operations and missions for VR-1 and assisting with identification of problem areas and recommend solutions to resolve or mitigate any emerging issues.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Liaise with command staff, Executive Assistants, and Aides de Camp to receive and validate user requests and itineraries.

- Prepare and deliver weekly trip planning reports.

- Analyze resources for assigned missions and develop draft weekly and long-range schedules for the Operations Offices.

- Gather and submit mission assignments to the contracted flight company, coordinate dispatch services, and file flight plans.

- Utilize DOD Flight Information Publications (FLIP) for planning information.

- Coordinate with Defense Attaché Offices worldwide to obtain diplomatic clearances.

- Arrange for prior permission requests, fixed base operator services, and customs requirements.

- Prepare Mission Assignment Folders for mission execution.

- Submit requests for lodging, ground transportation, and airlines to appropriate agencies.

- Prepare weekly crew lodging and ground transportation status reports.

- Collect data, analyze, and produce monthly post-trip and financial trip reports with accounting analysis.

- Manage and maintain Global Decision Support System (GDSS), Jeppesen Dispatch Services, and SierrHotel Aviation Readiness Program (SHARP).

- Coordinate required training on Mission Planning Programs and Procedures.

- Develop and update Flight Planning Checklists and Aide Briefs.

- Create and maintain databases of aircraft, crew, and essential phone numbers, including local agency contacts.

-Prepare and maintain monthly Operations mission phone rosters.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

- minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in a Navy reserve Unit in the as a military or commercial flight operations coordinator in the coordination between air-traffic control and maintenance personnel; dispatching; using airfield landing and navigational aids; implementing airfield safety procedures; monitoring and maintaining flight records; and applying knowledge of weather information. 

- possess the knowledge and abilities to coordinate with approved dispatch service agents for air routing structure, airfield services,

proficiency with flight planning software and dispatch/scheduling experience in aviation procedures and practices.

- proficient in speaking, reading, and writing the English language. 

- possess satisfactory computer familiarity and computer skills to operate in computer focused environment.

- possess a current DoD SECRET clearance and be able maintain a clearance

- be a US Citizen

The salary for this position is not 100% guaranteed.
