The Opportunity

Adept Group is seeking a Packaging Engineer II (1099 Contractor) to add to our team in East Hanover, NJ! This candidate would have 2 - 4 years of full packaging development experience within Food & Beverage or CPG industries. Experience with flexible films, folding cartons, and corrugate is required.

This is a hybrid role that requires 2-3 days onsite in East Hanover, NJ. This is a 1099 Contractor (Independent Contractor) opportunity for the remainder of 2025 at 40-hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

Primarily supporting seasonal products for confections.
Support qualifications and testing in plants or externally mainly with films (pillow bags and stand up bags).
New product launches.
Interface with external suppliers, as well as internal contacts.
Create and update specifications.
Work closely supporting external manufacturers.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in packaging engineering.
2 - 4 years of experience in the packaging industry, preferably in Food & Beverage or CPG.
Experience with flexible films, folding cartons, and corrugate.
Ability to work and report in a cross functional organization.
Effective communications (oral and written) across internal and external teams. 
Proven ability to multitask and manage time efficiently and effectively across multiple activities and tasks simultaneously. 
The ideal candidate is creative, innovative, fast-learner, and someone who can take a big picture approach in an agile way.
Experience with candy is a plus!
