Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing & Administration: Timely performance including accurate calculation of wages, bonuses, commissions, etc., tax compliance, federal, state, and local payroll adjustments, reporting & reconciliation, qualified to run certified payroll for government and prevailing wage projects and handle related reporting.
- Payroll Compliance & Regulatory Reporting: Ensure legal compliance, and prepare regulatory reports for audit.
- Payroll System Maintenance & Improvement: system management, process improvements, and vendor management with third-party payroll vendors, where applicable.
- Cross-Company Payroll Coordination: Multi-company payroll management, Intercompany Transactions, Documentation & Record Keeping
- Other Accounting & Administrative Responsibilities: General Accounting Support, assisting with month-end closing, and reconciliation, Employee Benefits Coordination, collaborating with HR and ad hoc reporting.
Qualifications:
- Software: QuickBooks Enterprise, Sunburst, and MS Excel (advanced).
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in payroll processing and data entry.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines. Fast pace and heavy workload.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Address discrepancies, resolve employee concerns, and find solutions timely.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in accounting or payroll, with a focus on multi-entity payroll processing and certified payroll. Strong understanding of accounting principles and payroll tax laws.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
