Pharmacist/Outpatient - Contract

Position Highlights:

• Long-term contract with potential for extension 
• Outpatient pharmacy services at Hopi Health Care Center 
• 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week 
• Active license from any U.S. state accepted

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited pharmacy program/school 
• Active pharmacy license in any U.S. state 
• Minimum of 2 years’ pharmacy experience 
• Prior IHS or federal facility experience preferred 
• Contract or travel experience is highly desired 
• Must be able to pass a federal background check
   

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify provider orders to ensure safe, effective medication therapy 
• Dispense prescriptions and provide patient-centered counseling 
• Conduct assessments to monitor medication use and outcomes 
• Manage pharmacy inventory and ensure proper storage/safety protocols 
• Prepare medications in compliance with sterile and non-sterile compounding standards 
• Partner with other departments to support whole-patient care 
• Serve as a clinical resource for drug therapy and interactions

Requirements

• Be a graduate of an accredited pharmacy program/school
• Previous contract experience is a plus
• Previous IHS facility experience helpful
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• Have a Pharmacist degree from a school of pharmacy approved by a state-accrediting agency
• Possess a current, active, unrestricted license from any of the 50 United States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or the District of Columbia.
• Maintain continuing education/certification
• Must be a US citizen, living primarily in the United States
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a pharmacist within the past 36 months
• References required
• Must meet all credentialing and background investigation requirements.
