Job Description - Phlebotomist

Adelphi is seeking Phlebotomists to provide services at a facility in Chicago, Illinois. The ideal candidates will be responsible for routine and specialized specimen collection, processing, and administrative tasks necessary for high-quality patient care in compliance with established policies and regulations.

Full-time Phlebotomists: Mon-Fri, 5:30am–2pm (40 hrs/week), rotating weekends

Part-time Phlebotomists: 5:30am–8:30am (3 hrs/day, 15hrs/week), rotating weekends

• Rate: $21

Requirements:

• High School Diploma

• Current certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)

• CPR Certification

• Minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience in the last three years.

Responsibilities:

• Perform venipuncture and blood sample collection, including blood cultures.

• Accession and receive specimens into the laboratory information system.

• Process and prepare specimens for reference lab testing.

• Provide patient instructions for sample collections (e.g., 24-hour urine).

• Transport specimens and handle special requirements.

• Answer phones and assist with patient inquiries.

• Maintain clean and stocked phlebotomy areas.

• Uphold high standards of customer service and interpersonal communication.

• Provide clerical support and manage supplies in the draw station.

• Any other duties as assigned.
