Job Description - Physical Therapist




Adelphi is seeking highly qualified and licensed Physical Therapists (PTs) to provide school-based physical therapy services to students across educational settings in Texas. The ideal candidate will assess, plan, and implement interventions that support students’ access to and participation in the educational environment, in compliance with state, federal, and district guidelines.

Requirements:



• Doctorate or Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.



• Active Texas license as a Physical Therapist.



• Certification by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT).



• Experience working with school-aged children and familiarity with IEP implementation.



• Understanding of IDEA, ADA, and relevant educational policies.



• Proficiency in providing services for students with physical disabilities and mobility challenges.











Responsibilities:



• Conduct physical therapy evaluations to determine eligibility and educational impact.



• Develop and implement individualized physical therapy goals and interventions as part of the IEP.



• Provide direct and consultative services to improve student access to school environments and activities.



• Address functional mobility, positioning, balance, gross motor skills, and equipment use.



• Document student progress and maintain accurate records per state and district standards.



• Collaborate with educators, school staff, and families to support carryover of strategies and modifications.



• Participate in ARD/IEP meetings to provide input on physical therapy needs and services.



• Train staff on safe handling, positioning, and use of adaptive equipment as needed.



• Ensure all services are delivered ethically, legally, and within scope of practice.



• Perform other related duties as assigned.
