Job Description - Physical Therapist

Adelphi is seeking Physical Therapists to provide Physical Therapy Services in a school District in Montgomery- Virginia. The Physical Therapist will provide appropriate physical therapy services to students through physical therapy evaluations, observations, and consultations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree program in physical therapy from an American Physical Therapy Association-approved institution.

• Virginia Board of Physical Therapy license.

• National Board for Certification in Physical Therapy.

• Experience in a school setting is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Assess referred students for special education through appropriate testing and diagnostic practice.

• Interpret testing results and implications to school staff, parents, and students as needed.

• Write physical therapy reports and complete eligibility reports.

• Confer with teachers and parents through conducting classroom observations and provide feedback.

• Participate in student support meetings and assist in collaborative problem-solving.

• Contribute to the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEP).

• Maintain positive, professional relationships with students, parents, staff, and the public.

• Other duties as assigned.
