Pickleball Coach (1099)

CityPickle is a dynamic and rapidly growing sport and lifestyle brand based in New York City. Our mission is to spread the joy of pickleball and put a paddle in the hand of every urban dweller. We specialize in operating both permanent, indoor pickleball clubs as well as high-profile, seasonal activations.

Position Overview:

As a Pickleball Coach at CityPickle Long Island City, you will play a pivotal role working directly with our Lead Pro and roster of other coaches, making a significant impact in our fast-paced and vibrant environment, while delivering exceptional experiences both on and off the court. This role requires technical skill, a passion for pickleball, excellent organizational skills, and strong interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality pickleball coaching for players of all skill levels.


• Develop and implement effective training programs tailored to the needs of participants.


• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages skill development and enjoyment of the sport.


• Evaluate player progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance performance.


• Make yourself available to be booked for and provide private lessons.


• Facilitate open plays, leagues, tournaments and events.


• Represent CityPickle in a manner consistent with its brand.

Skills & Qualifications:

• A passion for pickleball!


• Bright energy, a collaborative spirit, and a drive for excellence and leadership.


• Self-starter, able to take ownership over tasks and carry them to the end.


• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for building and maintaining relationships.


• Minimum of 1 year of experience in pickleball coaching, certification preferred.


• Bonus: Experience in event coordination and pickleball programming.

Additional Information:

• $30-40 per hour, depending on experience, for CityPickle-hosted duties.


• Pickleball Coach can set their own rates and availability for private lessons in addition to CityPickle-hosted work.


• 1099 Independent Contractor position.
