Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints, work orders, and GD&T drawings to plan machining work.
- Set up and operate manual mills and lathes, adjusting tools and attachments as needed.
- Use equipment such as drill presses, wet saws, belt sanders, and hydraulic presses.
- Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other tools.
- Monitor machining operations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance and coordinate equipment repairs.
- Manage inventory of materials and tools; anticipate needs and track usage.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 3+ years of machining experience
- Proficiency with manual mills and lathes
- Strong blueprint and technical drawing interpretation
- Understanding of intermediate math (geometry, trigonometry)
- Experience with quality control processes such as First Article and PPAP
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically active role
- Detail-oriented with solid tool management knowledge
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in sheet metal manufacturing
- CNC machining or G-code programming/editing
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards
- Supply chain and inventory control experience
- Process improvement skills
