Job Description - Project Geologist

DESCRIPTION:


EDGE is seeking an Environmental Geologist to assist our Compliance and Liability Management group with providing multi-media support to our clients in the Oil and Gas, Chemical, and Manufacturing industries.  This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing, dynamic environmental engineering and consulting firm in our Houston, Texas office.  The successful candidate will conduct field work and develop associated reports, while working with our team of professionals.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Conduct field work including soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling

  • Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)

  • Provide technical support on a variety of projects, including assisting with regulatory research, data collection and analysis, and the preparation of various technical documents

  • Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments

  • Collect, organize, and manage large volumes of client data

  • Assist with the development of Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWP3s)

  • Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments


REQUIREMENTS



  • B.S. degree in geology or a related discipline (M.S. preferred)

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience

  • Experience conducting Phase I ESAs and Phase II site investigations

  • Working knowledge of federal environmental and safety regulations including RCRA, CERCLA, EPCRA, TSCA, OSHA and various accompanying state-specific regulations

  • Comprehensive knowledge and familiarity with the use of MS Office Suite software programs is necessary

  • Self-motivated, quick learning, flexible individuals who have a common-sense approach to conducting business and workload management will be most successful
