This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys being hands-on in the field, and excels at managing teams, clients, and complex project requirements.

Position Overview

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering industrial coating projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will serve as the primary point of contact for clients and will play a key role in maintaining strong customer relationships, ensuring repeat business, and upholding Tank Services’ reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Manage all phases of industrial coating projects—from      estimating and quoting through completion and closeout.
  • Develop work plans, assign labor, and coordinate site      mobilization, daily operations, and material deliveries.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and production      goals; implement corrective actions to prevent overruns.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA      requirements, and company procedures.

Client & Vendor Relations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients,      vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Provide regular project updates, manage change      requests, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to      promote repeat business.

Field Leadership

  • Supervise field crews to ensure efficient, safe, and      high-quality operations.
  • Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, and      subcontractors to resolve field issues quickly.
  • Conduct quality inspections and enforce company      standards.
  • Mentor and train field staff in proper surface      preparation, coating application, and safety practices.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare project documentation, daily reports, progress      updates, and closeout packages.
  • Support accurate cost reporting, forecasting, and      identification of financial risks.
  • Maintain required quality assurance records for      customers and internal use.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience as a project manager with a large industrial      coating or corrosion-control firm.
  • Minimum 5 years of estimating/quoting industrial      coating projects.
  • NACE/AMPP CIP Level 1 or Level 2 certification required.
  • Hands-on experience with abrasive blasting and applying      protective coating systems.
  • Experience in a quality assurance role,      including documentation and inspection practices.
  • Strong familiarity with NACE/AMPP standards,      surface preparation requirements, and coating systems.
  • Proven ability to manage crews safely, productively,      and profitably.

Desired Skills & Attributes

  • Strong ability to estimate and quote projects accurately.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Leadership ability with a track record of mentoring and developing field staff.
  • Commitment to safety and advocacy for company safety programs.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus but not required.

Why Join Tank Services?
