Job Description - Registered Nurse (School-Based)

Adelphi is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide school-based health services for students within the Little Rock School, Arkansas. The ideal candidate will deliver comprehensive nursing care aligned with the Standards of Nursing Practice for School Nurses and the policies of LRSD Health Services Department.

Elementary/K-8 Schools: 7:40 AM – 2:55 PM

Secondary Schools: 8:45 AM – 4:00 PM

• Contract Term: First to last scheduled student day of the 2025–2026 school year

• Rate: $35/hr

Requirements:

• Must be a Registered Nurse with an unencumbered license to practice in Arkansas

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

• Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience in school health, community nursing, mental health, or pediatric care

• Current CPR certification for Health Care Provider

• Certification in Standard First Aid or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment

Responsibilities:

• Implement the 17 Standards of Nursing Practice for School Nurses (ANA/NASN)

• Provide on-site nursing assessments, treatments, and referrals for students, staff, and visitors

• Supervise and train school personnel in student health care as needed

• Maintain and secure health office supplies and equipment (e.g., vision tester, stethoscope, otoscope)

• Submit required reports to Health Services Director per state and district guidelines

• Work within multiple school sites as needed based on district demands

• Support compliance with Arkansas Department of Education and Arkansas Department of Health requirements

• Adhere to Health Services policies and procedures

• Any other duties as assigned
