Lightcast is seeking data-driven individuals with specific language expertise to help expand our global product features. This person will play a key role in ensuring we deliver high-quality data to our clients.
Note: This is a full-time (40 hours/week) independent contractor position for 6 to 9 months. It is a BYOD (bring your own device) role requiring access to a personal laptop.
Major Responsibilities
- Analyze and improve data quality of multilingual text classifiers.
- Work with linguistics and engineering teams to build out new parsers across languages.
- Translate various taxonomies such as Skills, Titles, and Occupations.
- Competency in reading and writing Hebrew
- Understanding of syntax and structural analysis of languages
- Microsoft Excel experience (including vlookups, data cleanup, and functions)
- Knowledge of query languages such as SQL
- Advanced knowledge of rule writing using RegEx
- Knowledge of text analysis or machine learning principles
- Experience with data analysis using tools such as Excel or Python
- High tolerance for repetitive and monotonous work.
- Ability to follow complex instructions, navigate ambiguity and work independently.
- Superb sense of urgency and time management.
- Reliable laptop and internet access
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Data Analytics, NLP or similar (preferred)
- Fluency in both English and Thai (spoken and written) is required.
