Role Description
TiER1 is looking for full-time Learning Interns with a strong interest in exploring a career in consultative organizational learning and instructional design.

Internship eligibility
Candidates should:

• Be a full-time incoming junior, senior, or advanced degree student (at the start of internship) completing a related degree from any university in the metro regions of Cincinnati, Indianapolis or Pittsburgh
• Be legally authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely
• Have a GPA of 3.2 or higher
• Have exceptional communication skills and the ability to articulate ideas, particularly in writing
• Be willing to complete a 10-week+, 40-hour-a-week paid internship at our Cincinnati, Indianapolis or Pittsburgh office sometime within the next 12 months
• Submit the following information: Completed application including your resume, work samples and ideal internship statement

Responsibilities
Help project teams with some of the following tasks:

• Brainstorm the learning design for project(s)
• Research the best learning solutions
• Write training content for classroom or eLearning programs
• Review, edit or test learning components to ensure high-quality deliverables
• Gather evaluation data and/or analyze learning results

What you can expect

• Paid internship
• Exposure to TiER1’s broad consulting services and opportunities for connection with colleagues at all levels of TiER1
• Skill development related to change management and/or communications
• A variety of challenging assignments
• Potential for a TiER1 role, upon graduation

Application and timeline
Internships occur in the fall, winter/spring, and summer. Application reviews and interviews typically occur in October, February and June. The timeline will depend on when you apply, but you will often know if there are any next steps within a few weeks of submitting your application.

Location

• We enjoy a combination of in-person and virtual work, with 50% or more of our time in our office or a client site.
• This internship can be based in Covington, KY, Pittsburgh, PA, or Indianapolis, IN. Please note that we do not provide room and board expenses, except when requested to travel (e.g. for onboarding)

SCHOLARSHIP
Candidates can also be considered for our needs-based scholarship award (paid internship, plus tuition assistance and/or housing and transportation for the internship). Eligibility and submission details are described below.

Purpose
To achieve our mission, we seek to attract high performing consultants of varied backgrounds, creating a diverse, inclusive, and highly collaborative culture. TiER1 identified an opportunity to help create more space for students who experience socioeconomic challenges and could benefit from tuition and/or internship housing/transportation assistance. While TiER1 internship are open to everyone, TiER1 Scholarships are awarded to students who accept an internship with TiER1 Performance and who face financial and socioeconomic challenges. If awarded, $2,500 would go toward the student's tuition and/or internship housing/transportation assistance.

TiER1 will award a limited number of scholarships that include:

• A paid internship at TiER1 Performance to be completed within a year of the scholarship award, plus
• $2,500 to offset the student’s tuition at their current academic institution and/or housing and transportation during their TiER1 internship.

Scholarship eligibility
Candidates must:

• Be legally authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely
• Submit the following information:
  • Completed application including your resume and work samples.
  • Read our scholarship statement and confirm you are experiencing serious financial hardship that threatens your education or internship opportunity.
  • Submit a statement of how the financial assistance will be used and will help.

Timeline, selection criteria and expectations
Scholarships may be awarded during the fall, winter/spring and summer internship cycle. Applicants will be notified during the internship review process.

Recipients selected will have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership qualities, and exceptional talent as shown through their application package. Scholarship recipients are expected to complete a paid intern at TiER1 Performance within one year of the scholarship award. Compensation for the internship is in addition to the $2,500 award.
