Job Description - Psychiatry NP/PA

Adelphi is seeking experienced and Texas-licensed Physician Assistants (PA-C) to provide after-hours psychiatric care via telemedicine in Galveston County, Texas. The selected PAs will collaborate with supervising psychiatrists to assess, treat, and manage behavioral health emergencies for adult patients in a crisis setting.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree from an ARC-PA-accredited program

• NCCPA certification (PANCE passed)

• Active PA license in Texas and NCCPA certification

• Behavioral health or crisis care experience preferred

• DEA license required; DEA-X waiver preferred

• Proficiency in HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms and EHR systems

• Availability during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities:

• Perform psychiatric assessments and initiate treatment plans under appropriate supervision

• Collaborate with supervising psychiatrists to manage medication orders

• Respond to on-demand psychiatric emergencies within 15 minutes of notification

• Maintain accurate, timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR)

• Communicate regularly with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure continuity of care
