Job Description - Trail Inventory and Assessment Specialist

The Opportunity:
We have an immediate opening for a part-time Trail Inventory & Assessment Specialist to work a hybrid remote schedule based out of our downtown Fort Collins office. 



What We Offer:



  • Compensation – This is a part-time position paid on an hourly basis between $30 to $40 per hour, depending on experience and education.



Your Key Responsibilities:



  • Conduct multimodal trail inventory and assessments utilizing ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey 123.

  • Utilize ArcGIS Pro to post-process field collected data, create data driven reports, and create public-facing maps.

  • Mentor staff and provide technical expertise on trail construction methods, best management practices, assessment techniques, and trail realignment strategies.

  • Conduct research and write existing condition reports and impact assessments.

  • Proactively identify and engage in new business opportunities related to travel management, trail planning, and environmental planning projects on public lands.

  • Develop work plans, maintain schedules, conduct quality control reviews, and perform other duties as required.



What You’ll Bring:



  • B.S. in Environmental Sciences or equivalent.

  • Demonstrated experience in multimodal trail planning & building, especially for state and local government agencies.

  • Strong writing ability, particularly in topics related to natural resources and trail construction and management best practices.

  • Be able to work cooperatively in a positive team-oriented setting.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
