Retreats & Family Camp Coordinator

COMPENSATION:

$450 - $480 / Weekly
 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Camp Director of Retreats and families, this position primarily involves the leading of a variety of safe and fun Camp activities, hospitality services, and general camp duties . The Retreats coordinator will fill the roles of friend, mentor, and role model for all groups. The Retreats Coordinator must have a thorough understanding of the YMCA’s mission and goals, and a desire to work with children, adults, and other types of groups. Leadership skills, enthusiasm, patience, a senseof humor, and self-control are all essential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Understand and be in accord with the YMCA philosophy, goals, and objectives.
2. Be a role model for & develop positive meaningful relationships with youth.
3. Provide children with the opportunities to make new friends and learn new activities.
4. Be concerned with camper development & growth.
5. Be aware of health and safety concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Lifeguard Certification
  • Bus Driver Certification
  • Supervisory Experience
  • Prior Summer Camp Experience
  • Peer Leadership
• Must be a highschool graduate
• Prior summer camp experience required
• Coordinator experience required
• CPR/AED and First Aid required
• TB test required
