Seasonal Meter Service

Description

Monday-Friday | 7:30am - 4:30pm

Primary Function:

Seasonal position to assist with District's meter replacement program. 

Essential Functions:

• Inspect current customer water meters for damage
• Change out meter registers and meter transponders
• Completion of digital work orders on mobile device
• Other duties as assigned 

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Valid Tennessee Driver’s License and safe driving record
• Good knowledge of Rutherford County 

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Basic tool, equipment, and vehicle maintenance
• Basic computer skills

ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Must have initiative and be resourceful in problem solving 
• Must be able to communicate with persons of all economic and education levels
• Clear Speaking Voice/Legible Handwriting
• Good vision
• Should be detailed oriented, able to focus on task-at-hand. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

• Typically standing stopping or walking.
• Typically bending, crouching or stooping.
• Frequently entering/exiting vehicle.
• Frequent lifting of light objects.
• Occasional lifting of objects weighing 25 to 50 pounds.
• Climbing fences/ladders.
• Use of tools or equipment requiring a high degree of expertise.
• Need to distinguish between shades of color.

WORKING CONDITIONS: normal or usual conditions where work is performed:

Work is primarily performed in a field setting with exposure to moderate noise, and outside elements.
