(Seasonal) Park Maintenance Worker

PAY RATE:  $12.50 - 14.10 per hour DOQ (up to 600 hours per year).


Eligible part-time employees will receive up to a $1.75 - $5.75 per hour retention bonus for all hours worked from Memorial Day through Labor Day. 

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Work activities in this position primarily involve the maintenance of park grounds and the custodial and general maintenance of buildings and other park structures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The list below is intended to describe the general nature of duties only. Employee shall perform other duties as assigned.

• Performs landscape maintenance in picnic areas.
• Empties trash.
• Patrols for litter.
• Maintains landscape beds.
• Maintains facilities.
• Cleans and maintains all restrooms in picnic areas and other locations as assigned.
• Paints interior and exterior of buildings.
• Paints signs, benches and tables.
• Cleans Buildings.
• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to load, unload and move materials between work locations.
• Ability to traverse sandy, marshy or wooded areas with even or uneven terrain.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work varied hours depending upon park demands.
• Ability to get along with co-workers, supervisors, and park visitors.
• May be required to adjust schedule to meet organizational needs, including special events, evenings, weekends & holidays.
• Ability to perform essential duties.
• Candidates must be 18 years of age or older and must have a valid driver's license

• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
