The position requires excellent communication skills - both written and verbal, along with the ability to support the F&B experience at PSSC. This is a full-time position required to work at the property. This position requires non-traditional working hours which includes working nights and weekends and holidays.

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a vigilant and professional Unarmed Security Guard to join our security team at The Palm Springs Surf Club. As an Unarmed Security Guard, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and visitors. Your presence and adherence to security protocols will help ensure the protection of assets and the prevention of security breaches.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

 Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.

Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds. 

Continuous repetitive motions. 

Work in cold, dry, hot, humid, and noisy environments.

Requirements

 Responsibilities: 

Access Control and Monitoring:Monitor access points, entrances, and exits to prevent unauthorized entry.  Verify the identity of individuals and ensure they have the proper authorization to enter the premises.  Conduct routine security checks of designated areas to detect and deter suspicious activities. 

Surveillance:Use security cameras and monitoring equipment to maintain surveillance of the premises.  Report any unusual or suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities and supervisors.  

Patrols and Inspections: Conduct regular foot or vehicle patrols to inspect the property for security breaches.Check doors, windows, and gates for signs of tampering or unauthorized access.   Ensure that security equipment, such as alarms and fire suppression systems, are in working order.  

Emergency Response: Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, and incidents. Assist in evacuations and provide assistance during medical emergencies if necessary. Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services as required.

Customer Service:    Provide a visible and professional presence to reassure clients, employees, and visitors.Offer assistance and directions to visitors and employees as needed.   Maintain a courteous and approachable demeanor while enforcing security policies.  Incident Reporting:  Document all security-related incidents, accidents, or irregularities in detailed reports.  Collect and preserve evidence if required, and provide testimony as needed.  

Security Procedures:    Strictly adhere to all security protocols, guidelines, and procedures.  Enforce company security policies and regulations consistently and fairly.

Communication:  Maintain open and effective communication with colleagues, supervisors, and relevant personnel. Provide clear and concise verbal and written reports as necessary.  

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in security-related fields is a plus.   
• Valid state security guard license or registration (if required by local regulations).   
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is advantageous.   
• Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.   
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.   
• Physical fitness and the capability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift heavy objects.   
• Knowledge of security equipment, including surveillance cameras and access control systems.   
• Familiarity with emergency response procedures and first aid/CPR (optional).   
• Integrity and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
