Job Title: Senior Engineer V (PE – Civil/Structural)

Location: Pomona, CA – Hybrid (2 days per week onsite)

Duration: Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer V to join our Transmission and Distribution Engineering team. This role will lead structural and line design analysis, provide technical expertise on transmission and distribution projects, and mentor less experienced engineers. The position requires a strong background in utility engineering, advanced knowledge of PLS-CADD and related tools, and a California PE license.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform structural and line design analysis using PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, and PLS-Caisson, serving as the subject matter expert in modeling and analysis.
• Ensure quality and safety compliance through oversight of QA/QC processes and adherence to company and regulatory standards.
• Review and design pole foundations for both new and existing infrastructure.
• Support construction activities by coordinating with field teams, conducting site inspections, and assisting in emergency restoration efforts (wildfires, storms, incidents).
• Maintain and update design specifications while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to engineering staff, fostering technical development within the organization.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's (or Master's) degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• California Civil PE License (active).
• 7+ years of technical experience in transmission and/or distribution line engineering design.
• Expertise with Electric Utility Distribution and Transmission Systems (California GO95, NESC, ASCE codes/guidelines).
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, and AutoCAD.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with PLS-Caisson.
• Familiarity with SPIDAcalc.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor's degree in an applicable profession, business, or technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 5–7+ years of engineering experience with increasing responsibility.
