Shift Lead ($23/hr Seasonal, Full-time, Day shift)

CLYNK is seeking an experienced Shift Lead to join our team of Processors! This job is a temporary assignment and is projected to end around mid-November.  CLYNK is a fast paced recycling and bottle redemption company recognized for being innovators and leaders in our industry. We are the fastest growing mode of beverage container recycling and the most requested option by consumers. Our patented technology supports recycling at a massive scale, not only at CLYNK but in other states and even parts of Canada. We operate over 100 "bag-drop" depots across Maine, New York, and Connecticut. CLYNK's popularity and demand continues to result in growth into new markets and new states. The Shift Lead is a crucial role where reliability, integrity, and adaptability is essential. Our patented technology allows us to process thousands of containers each hour. However, our employees are our greatest asset. We rely on our team to facilitate this process and ensure proper operation of machinery, including sorting machinery, hand-scanners, balers, and candensors.  The Shift Lead is a hands-on leadership role that supports the Processors and floor support staff, ensuring maximum processing time throughout the shift. Primary responsibilities include operating large equipment like balers, emptying Processors’ bins and bags, loading material into trailers via forklift, motivating the team, keeping the warehouse safe, organized and clean, and collaborating with the Maintenance team to ensure functionality of machinery. The Shift Lead is a role model of adhering to core values and best practices.  

Essential Functions:   

• Ensure timely progress of achieving hourly and daily productivity goals
• Provide a positive atmosphere to achieve the highest level of morale possible
• Manage staffing levels (coverage for call-outs, reassigning work as applicable)
• Provide floor support to ensure productive workflow 
• Hold Processors accountable to following best practices 
• Maintain safety practices and holding Processors accountable for safety
• Complete necessary reports timely and accurately 
• Communicate effectively with other departments
• Act as a role model at all times 

Qualifications:

• Previous forklift experience (will be certified through CLYNK)
• At least 1 year as a Lead in a fast-paced or similar warehouse environment 
• Good mechanical and problem-solving skills
• Able to command the respect and trust of the staff
• Able to keep people motivated and productive
• Able to manage different personalities and abilities accordingly and effectively
• Attention to detail – able to make sure things are done correctly
• Self-directed and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
• Effective communication skills – good team player
• Strong time management with able to shift priorities 
• Good mechanical and problem-solving skills

• Physical requirements: Able to sit and stand for long periods of time. Ability to push, pull, lift, twist, turn, bend, kneel, squat, bend, and climb. Must be able to repetitively lift bags weighing up to 60lbs. Solid hand-eye coordination.
