Job Description - Short-term Nanny in San Marcos, CA for a 6-month-old

A bit about us:
We’re a cheerful family of 4 including our OG baby, Penny the dog! There’s a lot of laughter in our home; we like music and singing. We don’t take things too seriously. We like to stay active, physically and mentally. We are constantly studying something new; we are currently learning French. We’ll be working from home most days, but we will gladly let you take the reigns during this super busy time at work.

Our 6-month-old baby girl is a ray of sunshine! She enjoys tummy time, music, and reading. She really likes mirroring facial expressions and watching what we’re eating; she’s our little, future foodie!

A bit about you:
Your friends might describe your personality as bright and bubbly. You are a warm and loving nanny! You delight in talking to infants and helping to build their verbal skills. You are attentive, have a good sense of humor, and strong communication skills. You enjoy helping others!

Job Duties: All child-related care such as playtime, reading, going for walks, diaper changes, bottle feeding, transitioning to solids, tummy time, ensuring safety, age-appropriate activities, following nap routine, bottle washing, baby’s breakfast and lunch (bottles and later making purees), light tidying, baby laundry, and vacuuming.


Position Highlights:
  • W-2 Payroll
  • Guaranteed 24 Hours a Week (Must be flexible on the days occasionally.)
  • Some Sick Pay
  • No Driving Children (except in an emergency)
  • No Pet Care Required

Qualifications: 3-5 years of childcare experience with infants in the 6-12 month range, fluent in English, infant CPR-certified, a valid Driver’s License and reliable car, comfortable with nanny cams in the home, at ease with parents who work from home, and able to follow a no-screen time policy with the baby.

Set yourself apart: You are bilingual, and/or are willing to help out with additional cooking and cleaning.

Schedule: Monday/Wednesday/Thursday (8a-4p)
                  Duration: Beginning of February-April 2025

Pay: $25-$30 an hour

**All applicants must first interview with a Jovie specialist. Qualifying applicants will meet the family prior to being hired. This job is not visa eligible. 

*Please note that during this time of COVID-19, Jovie expects all employees to follow CDC guidelines and ensure best hygiene practices when working and in their personal time. This family is following these recommended guidelines cautiously and conservatively and expect the caregiver to do the same to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible.
