Job Description
Make a meaningful impact every day by supporting students with special needs in a collaborative, mission-driven school environment. This is a consistent, onsite role at an elementary school in San Mateo County, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM (30 hours per week). What You’ll Do Provide direct classroom and behavioral support to students with special needs Collect and report on student data as directed by the Behavior Supervisor or Special Education Teacher Assist students with pre-academic readiness, social skills, and classroom transitions Help facilitate safe, inclusive interactions during recess and group activities Maintain calmness, professionalism, and flexibility in a dynamic school setting Work as part of a committed team of educators and specialists focused on student growth Experience & Qualifications Minimum of an associate degree Valid driver’s license and personal transportation Must reside in San Mateo or San Francisco County areas (not open to East Bay or South Bay residents) 2+ years of school-based experience preferred Familiarity with behavioral supports and accurate data collection strongly preferred Safety Care training a plus Strong attendance, professionalism, and collaboration skills required Additional Notes While this district prioritizes candidates who live in San Mateo or San Francisco County, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re located elsewhere—we’re actively staffing roles at hundreds of local schools and may have opportunities closer to you.
