• Identify student needs and develop, implement, and manage IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines.


• Deliver individualized, small\-group, and whole\-group instruction using research\-based practices.


• Provide students access to the general education curriculum through appropriate accommodations and modifications.


• Create and maintain a structured, positive classroom environment that supports learning and well\-being.


• Conduct ongoing assessments of academic, behavioral, and social\-emotional progress.


• Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum and instruction.


• Coordinate and lead IEP meetings, including preparation and documentation.


• Communicate regularly and effectively with families, staff, and administrators.


• Supervise and support paraprofessionals and support staff as assigned.


• Implement and maintain behavior intervention plans and classroom procedures.


• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with special education documentation requirements.


• Participate in meetings, professional development, and school initiatives.

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement.


• Knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and compliance requirements.


• Experience with differentiated instruction and behavior management strategies.


• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.


• Competence using instructional technology, diagnostic tools, and data\-driven practices.


• Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold high ethical standards.


• CPI certification or ability to maintain certification as required.

• Experience working with English Language Learners.


• Background in inclusive and least restrictive environment (LRE) programming.


• Experience supervising paraprofessionals or support staff.


• Strong family engagement and home–school communication skills.
