Job Description


Position Summary:
Join a passionate and interdisciplinary teaml, where you’ll play a vital role supporting students with autism and complex communication challenges. As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you'll deliver targeted interventions and collaborate with educators and families to facilitate functional communication through direct therapy, AAC implementation, and consultative services. This position emphasizes data-driven practices, IEP compliance, and collaboration across disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Conduct formal and informal speech/language assessments to determine student needs

  • Develop and deliver evidence-based therapy aligned with IEP goals

  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team-based service plans

  • Program and manage both low- and high-tech AAC devices

  • Oversee feeding protocols and safety for students with specific needs

  • Track and document services to meet Medicaid and regulatory requirements

  • Provide family and staff training on communication strategies

  • Supervise graduate students or clinical fellows as needed

  • Maintain licensure, certification, and ongoing professional development

  • Adhere to ASHA Code of Ethics and Linwood School policies




Required Qualifications:


  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology

  • Current Maryland SLP license

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)

  • Experience in pediatrics and/or special education settings

  • Proficiency in use and programming of AAC systems

  • CPR certification (or ability to obtain through employer-provided training)

  • PCM (Professional Crisis Management) certification (or ability to obtain)
