Student Worker (Academics)

Description

This position provides on-site support at the Joliet Job Corps Center (Joliet, IL) operated by Strategix.    

Position Summary

The Student Worker provides supervised, temporary center support to a designated department in order to enhance the development of employability and independent living skills. 

 Essential Functions 

1. Shadow designated members of a respective department to develop and enhance employment skills. 

2. Rotate through various areas of responsibility as proficiency is demonstrated. 

3. Accept designated projects to research and complete within timeframes provided. 

4. Engage with customers and provides good customer service; escalates matters as warranted. 

5. Participate in various off-center Work Based Learning opportunities 

6. Provide suggestions to management for improving department processes. 

7. Consistently model the program’s Career Success Standards. 

8. Attend required training as assigned. 

9. Adhere to and model Strategix servant leadership culture values: Honor Others, Inspire Vision, Choose Integrity, People First, Balance Focus with Flexibility, Serve with Humility, and Innovate and Disrupt. 

10. Perform other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

Minimum

Must be age 18 or over. Good reading, math, verbal, and written communication skills. Friendly demeanor; willingness to assist staff and peers; willingness to positively represent the center and Job Corps program both on campus as well as during off site center activities; responds well to authority.
