Job Description - Students at FPU Only - Activities Coordinator/Orientation Leader AY 26-27


The PAC Programming Team Leader has an important role in crafting the undergraduate student experience. This position requires event planning, teamwork, creative skills, problem resolution, hands-on efforts, leadership, facilitation skills, consistency and peer development, all aimed towards the goal of high quality, engaging events and programs that serve a diverse campus community.

Successful PAC Team Leaders are and will be:
    •  Finds planning activities enjoyable, able to see the event through concept to clean-up.
    •  Energetic, encouraging participation, and a fun experience.
    •  Focused on teamwork, to accomplish our program goals.
    •  Strong communicators, who engage with students and professional staff effectively.
    •  Advocates for positive change in the student experience, to bring a unique perspective that 
       merges the needs of the students with our program model
    •  Independent thinkers, with a willingness to have a dissenting opinion, and be a voice for change 
        and alternative perspectives.
    •  Flexible and adaptable, willing to be available on weekends and as needed.
    •  Outcomes driven, with a capability to identify themes that lead to success.
    •  Creative, outside the box thinker that can identify alternative solutions to problems.
    •  Perform under stress, ability to maintain consistency throughout the event process.

Experience:

  • Engagement of Peers 
  • Vocal advocates of the PAC program model 
  • Act as role models and positive stewards of PAC. 
  • Be active in the campus community 
  • Program creation/execution 
  • Work under the guidance of Student Engagement Professional Staff to craft a myriad of offerings to our students 
  • Diligently be responsible for the entire programming process, from concept to program end. 
  • Follow a consistent process and timeline to ensure programs are effectively presented to the campus community. 
  • Aim for high levels of program quality. 
  • Be open to new ideas, concepts, as well as embracing traditional events. 
  • Adopt a hands-on mentality to ensure program goals are met. 
  • Communication & Teamwork.

Qualifications:
To be eligible for the PAC Programming Team Leadership position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
    o Enrollment: Must be a full-time undergraduate student (minimum of 12 credit hours) at Franklin Pierce                 University.
    o Academic Standing: Must have a minimum semester and cumulative GPA of 2.5, verified by an unofficial           transcript.
    o Good Conduct Standing: Must be in good disciplinary standing with the university and free of disciplinary            probation.

Compensation: 
•    This is an unpaid position
•    PAC Program Team Leaders are provided housing, free of charge, during their time within the position                  through a housing scholarship*.
•    Note: If a PAC Program Team Leader leaves the position early and/or is terminated from their position, the           housing cost is then prorated for the time that they were actively within the role.

Time Commitment:
The PAC position is considered a 16-hour-per-week commitment on average. However, responsibilities are based on the needs of the university community, meaning time demands will vary week to week. Some timeframes, such as when training, developing large-scale programs, or crafting program/activity series, will require additional time.

Expected Commitments Include:
• Program development:
    o Fall and Spring new and transfer student orientation
    o Weekly small scale or “pop-up” program offerings
    o Monthly community-wide event offerings
    o “Senior Send-off” events
    o Off-campus venues
    o Weekly hours allocated to tabling and event promotion
    o Weekly staff meetings

Training:
o Fall Training: PAC Program Team Leaders arrive to campus approximately two weeks before 
new-student move-in for training and initial event/program support.
o Ongoing Professional Development: Required in-service training throughout the year.
