Work Location: Huntsville, AL 


Schedule: Full Time 40 hours per week; 8 hours per day in office (remote work is not authorized)


Relocation: Negotiable 


This position is contingent upon contract award.


IronMountain Solutions is seeking a Subcontract Administrator with experience administering various complex government or commercial contracts such as CPFF, T&M, and FFP from cradle to grave.  The Subcontract Administrator will conduct administration of government and commercial contracts.


Job Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for leading high-level negotiations for complex subcontracts, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with FAR, DFARS, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Navigate challenging contractual issues with subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

  • Identify and assess risks related to subcontractor performance and compliance.

  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, ensuring adherence to all contractual obligations and regulations.

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration to ensure project success.

  • Assist with the development and implementation of subcontracting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency, compliance, and best practices within the organization.

  • Oversee the monitoring of subcontractor performance against contractual requirements and performance metrics.

  • Prepare and present detailed reports on subcontract performance and compliance to the senior management and stakeholders.

  • Lead internal and external audits related to subcontract administration.

  • Address audit findings and implement necessary corrective actions to ensure compliance and improve processes.

  • Manage the closeout process for subcontracts, ensuring all contractual requirements are fulfilled, deliverables are received, and final payments are processed in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.

  • Comprehensive understanding of FAR, DFARS, and government procurement regulations.

  • Proven ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks.

  • Proven experience leading negotiations for complex and high-value subcontracts, with a focus on risk management and compliance.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess risks, develop strategies, and make informed decisions.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information to diverse audiences, including senior executives and government officials. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; normal physical activity (reach with hands and arms; climb stairs); and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.


Education and General Experience: 



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, Supply Chain, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. 

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in subcontract administration or subcontracts management, with significant experience in government contracting environments.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as data rights, safety rules, federal regulations, and procedure manuals.  

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with others in various roles in and outside of the company

  • Ability to solve practical problems.

  • Ability to multitask effectively and adapt to change.

  • Must have the ability to work well with others.

  • Strong understanding of DFAR/FAR Data Rights is desired

  • Experience administering manufacturing/product type contracts is desired  


Clearance Requirements: The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance is required. Per federal requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this level of clearance.
