Substitute Librarian (2 positions)

Substitute Librarian, Adult, Lending, and Youth Services 

Curtis Memorial Library has an opportunity for a customer-focused professional to provide library services in adult, lending, and/or youth services areas on a per diem basis. The successful candidate will have proficiency with digital literacy, extensive knowledge of current literature and information sources relevant to adult and/or youth patrons, and skill in providing in-depth readers’ advisory and information assistance. The librarian will ensure a safe and positive environment for patrons and may serve as the person in charge within the library. 

The Curtis Memorial Library is looking for two substitutes with availability to work weekdays and weekends, including evenings.  

Substitute positions require availability for some evening and weekend hours.  A commitment for each substitute would be to work at least one four-hour shift a month.  

An MLS degree, or a degree pending in 2026, is ; public library experience is strongly preferred.  The pay rate is $26.50/hr. Sunday shifts will have an additional $5.00 per hour shift differential. 

A substitute librarian may be called to fill in long- or short-term during regular staff absences.
