Description

Operations Utility Workers/Custodial

• Perform plant janitorial & custodian cleaning/housekeeping projects such as sweeping, mopping; washing windows; removing trash; and assist in cleaning floor drains.
• Responsible for keeping plant tour routes clean.
• Assist in preparing walls for painting, painting, & completing minor building maintenance repairs.
• Assist by completing pick up & deliveries from local communities.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Must be able to work in all areas of the plant.
• Frequent medium lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
• Must be able to run small electrical tools.
• Requires the ability to perform physical requirements of the job.
• Must be able to read and follow written and verbal instructions at a level normally acquired through a high school diploma.
• May also assist with work assignments in the other core groups. Other duties as assigned.

Fuel System

• Perform a variety of duties to clean and maintain the plant site yard and grounds including lawn mowing, weed-eating, watering lawn, cleaning & watering trees, and picking up rocks & trash.
• Will be required to clean equipment & vehicles, clean shop floor drains, clean inside coal buildings, operate lawn sprinklers, & complete routine housekeeping tasks.
• Will be required to operate related tools and equipment.
• Frequent medium lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
• Must be able to work outdoors in variety of weather conditions.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Requires the ability to perform physical requirements of the job.
• Must be able to read and follow written and verbal instructions at a level normally acquired through a high school diploma.
• May also assist with work assignments in the other core groups. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

To be considered for a temporary, summer helper position at Coal Creek Station, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be 18 years of age before beginning employment in the program.
• Be enrolled as a full-time student in a post-secondary education or vocational program for fall semester.
• Meet minimum position requirements (i.e., education, skills, abilities, experience, etc.)
• Be able to complete the essential job functions (i.e., lifting, using tools, working in heat, etc.)
• Satisfactorily complete a physical exam and drug screening
