Surgical Assistant (PRN)

Description

North Mississippi Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates in Tupelo is seeking a skilled PRN Surgical Assistant to join our team on an as needed basis.

This PRN role will be working a full-time schedule for 6 to 12 weeks. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for their diagnosis or treatment. 
• Assist the Oral Surgeon during a variety of oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures.
• Prepare treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
• Control inventory of clinical supplies. 
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control in the practice. 
• Prepre and draw sedation medications. 
• Acquire dental x-rays and CBCTs.
• Take diagnostic impressions and digital scans. 
• Process contaminated laundry according to OSHA regulations. 
• Phone in prescriptions to pharmacy as instructed.
• Perform office management tasks that often require the use of a computer and phone.
• Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential. 

Requirements

• One or more years of Dental and/or Surgical Assistant experience is preferred
• Dental Assisting Certificate or Surgical Technician Certification is preferred
• DAANCE Certification is preferred
• Radiology Certificate
• BLS CPR Certificate
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with computer-based tasks
• Professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude
• Detail oriented, punctual, and patient-care focused
