Job Description:
The State of Michigan – DTMB/Management and Budget is seeking a System Analyst 6 to provide technical support and system administration for COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) applications. This position requires hands-on experience in configuring and maintaining systems in both Windows and Linux environments, performing technical analysis, application support, and collaborating with vendors and stakeholders to ensure system efficiency and security.
Specialty Areas:
• System Administration & Configuration – Installing, configuring, and supporting application components on Windows Server and RHEL environments.
• Requirements Gathering & Solution Analysis – Collaborating with teams to define system needs and propose scalable, secure solutions.
• Technical Expertise & Tool Proficiency – Hands-on experience with IIS, Tomcat, MS SQL, Azure/AWS/GCP, Dynatrace, PowerShell, Azure DevOps, XML, SSO (SAML/OAuth/OpenID), firewalls, and LAN/WAN networks.
• System Monitoring & Security – Troubleshooting system issues, monitoring performance, remediating vulnerabilities, and maintaining architecture diagrams and documentation.
Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, and support COTS software on Windows and Linux servers.
• Gather and document technical and functional requirements.
• Analyze existing systems and recommend solutions or enhancements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Ensure systems meet Federal, State, and industry security standards.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams.
• Provide application support including patching, upgrades, and issue resolution.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure components including firewalls, networks, and authentication issues.
