The Role:
As a Systems Engineer I, you are in an entry-level position that may include traditional systems engineering functions, human-systems integration (HSI), and/or model-based systems engineering (MBSE) scope. In this role, you will work under the guidance of more senior team members and apply MTI’s user-centered research, analysis, design, and development process. Your primary focus will be on learning and applying systems engineering principles to assist in creating highly effective solutions for complex, critical missions
Responsibilties:
- Support the identification, evaluation, decomposition, and traceability of stakeholder requirements, program requirements, and compliance standards.
- Support the development, analysis, and documentation of system architecture and interfaces, particularly as related to user interface components and system functionality that supports user effectiveness.
- Support trade studies, course of action analyses, and other technical decisions.
- Assist in documenting systems engineering practices and implementing them effectively.
- Collaborate with more experienced engineers and team members to support project objectives
- Support the development of compliant and user-centric solutions that effectively meet mission needs.
- Support the creation of descriptive models, analytical models, and simulations of systems using model-based systems engineering and digital engineering tools and practices.
- Support integration of HSI domains with each other, with other system considerations, and throughout the project.
Experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD Security Clearance
- A bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field.
- An advanced degree is highly preferred.
- 1+ years of minimum experience required.
- Basic verbal and written communication skills to convey technical topics.
- Basic understanding of SE principles and methodologies.
- A willingness to learn and adapt to new methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- A commitment to understanding and advocating for the needs and preferences of end users
