Job Description - Tax Accountant

Position Title: Tax Compliance Analyst
Duration: 4-month role + Possible Extension
Pay Rate: $35- $40.00/hr on W2
Location: Berkeley Heights, NJ 07922
Schedule: Hybrid - 3 days onsite in Berkeley Heights, NJ

Key Responsibilities:

Preparation of accurate and timely sales and use tax returns
Prepare monthly sales/use tax journal entry, reconciliations and working papers to support the General Ledger tax account balances
Assist in determining nexus, identifying filing requirements, and registering to ensure tax compliance in all state and local jurisdictions in the US
Respond to state and local tax notices and inquires
Research various tax issues
Work closely with various corporate and divisional groups and various departments through the company
Continuously improve process and productivity
Special compliance and audit projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Business Degree in Accounting/Finance
Minimum 5 years' previous tax compliance experience
SAP experience or equivalent financial software required
Taxware experience or other tax compliance software required
Strong PC skills including proficiency with MS Office applications
Strong analytical and communication skills
Must have a sense of urgency and work independently
Must possess strong organizational skills with attention to details while be capable of multi-tasking
Should be familiar with general accounting concepts, practices and procedures
