- Title: Teacher of the Handicapped/Teacher of Students with Disabilities
- Location: New Providence, NJ and Warren, NJ
- Duration: ASAP to 25/26 school year end
- Onsite/Virtual: Onsite
- Position Type: Contract
- Working Hours: 30 to 35 hours weekly, from Monday to Friday
- Student Age Group: K\-8 or K\-6 or P\-3
- Case Load: Varies with grades, school will be providing the details directly.
Responsibilities: SPED Teacher
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans and instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities.
- Create, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students, ensuring goals are met and documented appropriately.
- Conduct assessments and monitor student progress to track their academic, social, and emotional development.
- Work closely with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to coordinate services and ensure a cohesive educational plan for each student.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the unique needs of students with special needs.
Qualifications: Special Education Teacher
- NJ DOE Teacher of the Handicapped or Teacher of Students with Disabilities certification.
- K\-8 or K\-6 or P\-3 Instructional Certification required.
- Preferred experience in classrooms working with students with autism spectrum disorder.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to provide direction and support to classroom teacher assistants.
