Tommy John is a dual gender lifestyle brand focused on Men’s & Women’s underwear, intimates, sleep, and lounge. We are DTC-driven through our owned and operated brand e-Commerce business. We are undergoing transformation to multi-channel distribution, including Wholesale expansion while remaining on a mission to add smart, innovative, and fun-loving team members to the organization. We are looking for a Temporary Senior Technical Designer, Women’s Intimates to come join our New York based headquarters. Our HQ Office is in Lower Manhattan and our teams are on-site 3 days per week.

Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of Technical Design, the Sr Technical Designer, Women’s Intimates will work directly with existing factories and be responsible for developing innovative concepts through commercialization and bulk production. This individual will also work closely with the Design team to coordinate sampling timelines and new product launch calendars. This position requires an entrepreneurial spirit and great work ethic as our work environment changes daily. We are looking for a highly detailed, self-starting individual, with solid Technical skills as well as product experience in the apparel space

Primary Responsibilities

Work with Director of Technical Design to establish company fit, size ranges, grading, and construction standards.
Execute design vision while achieving impeccable fit and construction standards.
Lead fittings, ensuring to take detailed and accurate notes.
Create and maintain detailed tech packs including detail sketches with construction/stitching, fit evaluation comments and specs, tolerances, and grading.
Measure and evaluate garments from proto sample through TOP.
Revise and create patterns; review and advise adjustments on plastic shot/bra cup molding.
Illustrate detail sketches using Adobe Illustrator.
Create and maintain libraries of approved samples, construction, specs, block patterns, and style patterns.
Maintain thorough vendor communication and tracking to meet deadlines and ensure on-time delivery.
Manage time and workflow.
Partner with Director Technical Design, cross-functional teams, and external vendors.

Qualifications, Skills, & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Patternmaking or Technical Design
6+ years Technical Design Experience in bras and intimate apparel
Must have technical understanding of body, fit, flat specs, fabric/trim stretch and the ability to lead fittings, taking detailed and accurate notes
Knowledge of patternmaking, construction, pad development, industry fit knowledge, sizing and grading
Ability to manage and delegate task and meet deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite
Passionate about sewing, construction, expert fit, and clean design
Excellent analytical skills, detail oriented, highly organized, quick and timely
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Thorough and detail oriented with ability to manage and delegate tasks to meet deadline demands
Works well in a team environment, experience managing teammates a plus
Demonstrates alignment with TJ core values: Humble, Adaptable, Mindful, GSD, & Curious
Ability to be on-site in our HQ Office in Lower Manhattan 3 days per week

Salary Range: $48 - $62.50/hour
