POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Pottawatomie County Clerk, the Temporary Election Worker is a temporary, non-exempt position under FLSA. They perform a variety of clerical, recordkeeping, customer service, and election tasks to assist with the smooth operation of the organization.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is preferred. One year of similar or related experience is preferred. Knowledge and experience with computer data entry using Microsoft Office programs necessary.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
The employee must have a thorough knowledge of computer software, and a working knowledge of mathematics, bookkeeping and elections. The employee must have excellent interpersonal, bookkeeping, office practices, and organizational and oral communication skills. The position requires the ability to read, comprehend, and write neatly and legibly.

PROBLEM SOLVING:
The position requires the ability to read, comprehend and write. The position makes decisions about locating requested information in an efficient and prompt manner for the general public and county offices.
DECISION MAKING:
The work involves the performance of specific routine operations that include a few separate tasks or procedures.
SUPERVISION/ACCOUNTABILITY:
Works independently with occasional supervision from the Pottawatomie County Clerk, with no supervisory duties.
PERSONAL RELATIONS:
Attitude is very important; the employee shall maintain a good working and relations attitude with all contacts. Daily contact with the general public, co-workers, supervisory personnel and elected or appointed officials is expected.
