Transportation Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Transportation Engineer to join our team in Rockville, MD. As a Transportation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, planning, and implementing transportation systems that enhance mobility, safety, and sustainability in our communities.

• Design and develop transportation infrastructure projects, including roadways, intersections, and traffic control systems

• Utilize advanced traffic simulation software to model and evaluate transportation scenarios

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate transportation solutions with urban planning and development projects

• Prepare detailed engineering plans, reports, technical specifications, and project documentation

• Develop and implement traffic management strategies to improve safety and reduce congestion

• Participate in public meetings and stakeholder consultations to present transportation plans and gather feedback

• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies in transportation engineering

• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery

• Bachelor's degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering

• EIT required; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain within 1 year

• At least 6 years of experience in transportation engineering

• Proficiency in Civil3D and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD and/or MicroStation)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, GIS software, and other data analytical tools

• Knowledge of basic Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning principles

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with diverse teams

• Knowledge of traffic flow analysis, transportation planning and design, and traffic safety principles

• PTOE (Professional Traffic Operations Engineer) certification is a plus

Salary: Between $90k - $120k, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
