Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Licensed Master Social Worker for an inpatient case management travel assignment at a Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Anchorage, Alaska.

This role supports consult-based social work services across adult, pediatric, and emergency patient populations, focusing on discharge planning, psychosocial support, and care coordination.

POSITION OVERVIEW
This assignment is ideal for social workers with strong acute care experience who are comfortable managing complex discharge planning, psychosocial assessments, and interdisciplinary coordination in a fast-paced hospital environment.

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
• 13-week contract
• Day shift 5x8s
• 08:30–17:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope
• No call required

COMPENSATION
Because travel rates change frequently based on market demand and facility needs, our recruiters provide the most current and competitive pay packages during your initial conversation. Each compensation package is customized and may include taxable hourly wages along with tax-free stipends when applicable.

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform comprehensive psychosocial and biopsychosocial assessments
• Develop and implement safe discharge plans aligned with regulations and patient-centered care
• Provide crisis intervention and brief clinical support
• Coordinate care with RN case managers and interdisciplinary teams
• Assist with resource navigation including insurance, housing, and community services
• Screen for suicidality and support safety planning
• Complete mandated reporting per state guidelines
• Document care appropriately within hospital systems

WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Magnet-designated acute care hospital
• Level II Trauma Center
• 400+ staffed beds
• Dedicated Adult, Children’s, and Emergency Department social work teams
• Consult-based service model


Requirements

• LMSW or LCSW license required (Alaska or pending AK license accepted) :contentReference[oaicite:1]index=1
• Master’s degree from CSWE-accredited program required :contentReference[oaicite:2]index=2
• Minimum 1–2 years experience preferred :contentReference[oaicite:3]index=3
• Ability to work 5x8 schedule (08:30–17:00) with every other weekend :contentReference[oaicite:4]index=4
• Must be comfortable with discharge planning and psychosocial assessments :contentReference[oaicite:5]index=5
• Must meet 50-mile radius rule (no locals) :contentReference[oaicite:6]index=6
• RTO must be submitted at time of submission :contentReference[oaicite:7]index=7
• Minimum 2 supervisory references required covering 1 year within last 3 years :contentReference[oaicite:8]index=8
