Job Description - Travel Occupational Therapist Job

Embark on a meaningful journey as a Travel Occupational Therapist in New Mexico, welcoming the chance to partner with communities in Belen and beyond to help individuals reclaim independence, functional skills, and a higher quality of life. As you apply your clinical expertise in assessment, intervention, and adaptive strategies, you’ll witness the tangible impact of thoughtful, patient-centered care. This is a weeks-long assignment that begins on 02/23/2026, offering 35 guaranteed hours per week and a competitive weekly pay range of $1,261 to $1,301. In a state celebrated for sunlit deserts, rugged mountains, and vibrant cultural traditions, you’ll experience professional fulfillment while discovering the warmth of NM communities that value resilience, creativity, and camaraderie. And to complement your professional growth, you’ll also have the opportunity to explore beautiful corners of this state—think the otherworldly beauty of White Sands, the cavernous wonder of Carlsbad Caverns, scenic routes through the Gila region, and the rich heritage of pueblos and pueblos-adjacent towns—all offering a memorable backdrop to your clinical adventures.

Location Benefits: Working in Belen places you in a welcoming community with easy access to Albuquerque and a gateway to the diverse landscapes of New Mexico. You’ll enjoy balanced caseloads that blend inpatient, outpatient, rehab, and community settings, providing a broad scope to apply and expand your OT expertise. The travel model also opens possibilities to experience other locations across the United States, enriching your clinical perspective, expanding your professional network, and presenting opportunities to learn new modalities, equipment, and patient populations. Expect supportive collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, streamlined onboarding, and resources designed to help you feel at home quickly, whether you’re settling into local housing or relocating between assignments. The combination of meaningful clinical work and the chance to explore a state renowned for its natural beauty and cultural richness makes this role uniquely rewarding.

Role Specifics and Benefits:
- Core responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive OT evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, set measurable goals, and implement interventions that improve activities of daily living, mobility, cognitive skills, fine motor control, and adaptive equipment use. Monitor progress with objective measures, adjust treatments as needed, educate patients and families, and ensure thorough, compliant documentation. Collaborate with therapists, physicians, case managers, and nursing teams to coordinate care and maximize outcomes. Adapt therapy approaches to diverse age groups and diagnoses, from pediatric to adult populations, while championing patient safety and autonomy.
- Professional growth: This role offers exposure to a range of clinical settings, opportunities to refine manual therapy techniques, assistive technology application, and home modification strategies. You’ll be supported in pursuing ongoing education and specialty interests within occupational therapy, with mentorship and access to resources that encourage advancement in your chosen focus areas.
- Benefits and compensation: Enjoy a competitive weekly pay range of $1,261–$1,301, with 35 guaranteed hours per week to provide stability and planning certainty. In addition to compensation, participants may receive housing assistance and potential contract extensions, enabling continuity of care, deeper community ties, and sustained professional momentum. The travel arrangement includes comprehensive support designed to make your assignment smooth and rewarding.
- Support and security: You’ll be backed by 24/7 support while traveling with the company, ensuring timely assistance, problem-solving, and access to resources whenever you need them. From onboarding to ongoing deployment, you’ll have a reliable partner in your corner, enabling you to focus on delivering exceptional care and fostering patient confidence.

Company Values: Our organization is rooted in empowering staff to thrive—professionally and personally. We are committed to your career advancement, cultivating a collaborative, respectful work environment, and providing the resources, mentorship, and pathways you need to progress. The culture emphasizes patient-centered excellence, ethical practice, and a supportive team dynamic where your voice is heard, your development is prioritized, and your work makes a lasting difference in communities you serve.

Call to Action: If you’re ready to advance your occupational therapy career while embracing the adventure of travel and the beauty of New Mexico, apply now.
