Job Description - Travel Occupational Therapist Job

Embark on a meaningful journey as an Occupational Therapist in Alturas, California, where your clinical expertise can restore independence, confidence, and participation to individuals across a range of communities. This focused assignment invites you to apply your specialty in real-world settings, collaborating with a devoted care team to create practical, person-centered interventions that translate into better daily living. Start on February 20, 2026, for a several‑week assignment that prioritizes patient outcomes, professional growth, and the satisfaction that comes from seeing leaps in function. You’ll bring evidence-based evaluation, thoughtful activity planning, and compassionate coaching to people navigating the challenges of injury, illness, or aging, while enjoying the rhythms of a welcoming Northern California community. This is more than a job—it’s a chance to shape lives and build lasting, meaningful impact through your OT expertise.

California is a canvas of beauty and variety, and Alturas sits at its quiet heart. In this high desert landscape you’ll discover clear night skies, expansive mesas, and access to outdoor adventures just beyond your door. Nearby landscapes offer Lava Beds National Monument, Modoc National Forest, and ample opportunities for hiking, fishing, and stargazing after a fulfilling day at work. If you prefer broader experiences, the role also offers placements across the United States, giving you the chance to explore different communities, patient populations, and care settings while maintaining a consistent standard of support and professional mentorship.

Role specifics and benefits: You will assess functional abilities, develop and implement occupation-based treatment plans, and optimize activities of daily living, fine motor skills, cognitive strategies, and adaptive equipment use. You’ll lead therapeutic interventions in inpatient or outpatient contexts, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, document progress, and educate patients and families to sustain improvements at home. The position emphasizes ongoing professional growth—opportunities to pursue certifications, participate in advanced courses, and expand your scope within pediatric, adult, or geriatric OT approaches. Benefits include a competitive weekly pay range of $2,744–$2,907, a welcoming signing bonus, housing assistance, and opportunities to extend the assignment. The program provides comprehensive support, including 24/7 assistance as you travel with the company, travel logistics, credentialing help, and a responsive clinical liaison who is there whenever you need guidance. You’ll have access to robust resources designed to reduce administrative burdens and keep you focused on meaningful patient outcomes.

Our company is committed to empowering therapists by prioritizing safe pathways for career advancement, mentorship from experienced clinicians, and a supportive work environment that values work-life balance, professional curiosity, and patient-centered care. We celebrate diverse backgrounds, encourage reflective practice, and invest in shared knowledge so you can grow while delivering exceptional outcomes for patients and families. You’ll find a culture that respects your voice, supports collaborative decision-making, and recognizes the crucial role OT plays in holistic rehabilitation. This is a place where your dedication to functional recovery translates into tangible, everyday improvements, and where your professional development is a shared priority across teams and locations.

If you’re ready to apply your OT expertise in a setting that respects your professional voice and your desire to make a lasting difference, we want to hear from you. Apply now to join a dedicated team that values contribution, growth, and compassionate, high-quality care. This assignment in Alturas offers the chance to impact lives while exploring the diverse landscapes of northern California and, when desired, broader opportunities across the country. Take the next step in your career and become part of a program that supports your ambitions, honors your expertise, and accompanies you on every step of your professional journey.
