Overview
Operating Room Technician (OR Tech) needed for a travel assignment in a Short-Term Acute Care Hospital setting in Geneva, NY. Start date May 25, 2026 for 14 weeks. Weekly pay range: $1,208–$1,311 per week. Guaranteed hours: 0 per week. Shift: 4x9 rotating (four 9-hour days) with call rotations and weekend coverage as needed.

Responsibilities
- Prepare instrument sets and organize supplies based on the surgical procedure, patient history, and age.
- Maintain sterile field and aseptic technique at all times per AORN standards; perform proper hand scrubbing, don sterile gown and gloves, set up the sterile field, and assist in proper draping of the patient.
- Clean and sterilize instruments; operate or monitor sterilization equipment and maintain accurate counts of all countable items on the sterile field.
- Assist the surgical team during procedures; handle sharps safely; draw up and label medications as required.
- Detect and address safety or cleanliness issues in the surgical environment; support ongoing service readiness and assist in welcoming new staff as a preceptor when needed.
- Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to provide safe patient care and respond to changes in surgical plans or equipment needs; participate in call rotations and weekend coverage as needed.

Requirements
- BLS certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or Rescue/Qualified by RQI
- OR Tech licensure or certification required
- Minimum 1 year of OR Tech experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical setting and maintain aseptic technique per AORN standards
- Availability for a 4x9 rotating schedule including call rotations and weekend coverage as needed
